Red Frangipani
$42.00
A single branch of red frangipani, drawn by Mark Catesby for The Natural History of Carolina (1731–43). A cluster of pink-red blossoms sits at the crown, with buds still furled among them, surrounded by long, glossy green leaves that fan out and droop over a stout, knobbed stem. The fine engraved lines show in the leaf veins and shading, and the original plate number, 92, sits in the top corner.
The warm cream ground and soft hand-coloured tones suit a study, hallway or bedroom, and the piece sits well beside other botanical or natural history prints. It arrives unframed with a white border, ready for a standard frame or mount of your choosing.
